Sometimes taken before our time. unexpectedly. My dad's brother was shot at gunfire yesterday. Life taken a bit too early. He was father and a service member to our country. I haven't seen him since I was a kid, but you know it hits home, when the thoughts of, "even though I haven't seen you in a while, I'll never get to see you, ever". It's a strange, overwhelming feeling, the idea of dying. Whether or not it will be peacefully, at a young age or in my old age when I've lived a full complete life. Who knows? I don't plan on wasting time and I don't regret anything I've done in my life thus far. I'm honest, I'm simple and I do what I want. I love my family and friends. I choose wisely. To my family, I love all of you every day and every day a little bit more. Life is short. Time never stops. Gotta keep moving. Be productive. Be happy. Enjoy the scenery. Travel often, it's humbling.

A lot has changed in the last year and half.

It's been a year and half since i posted. I figured I would start again. I live in Brooklyn, New York. I moved here a month and a half ago not knowing that I was actually moving here. I thought I was just taking a vacation from my vacation to visit some friends. But landed a job, an apartment, great roommates and few good friends. Literally. I've had a lot of time to think and a lot of time in a different mind set these last two years. My three strings of bad luck, if you want to call it that, happened in October of 2009. It's a little over 2 years since then and I'm just realizing that that was my game changer up until now. I want to live my life in simple sort of way. Doesn't everyone? I want to enjoy my family and tell them I love them everyday. I want to treat my body well and not torture it like i did in my early 20's. Life is simple. I plan on enjoying it. Stress free and with a big smile on my face. People in New York walk so fast, I've picked up my pace a bit but still enjoying the scenery. My imagination is running wild. Looking forward to the next year and many after that.

so here i am in san diego. pretty much loving life. i have nothing to complain about. i've got a roof over my head for the time being, the sunshine on my face, and amazing people i seem to have stumbled across. slowin down for a bit and feels real nice. still makin plans and keepin direction. just takin it easy, maybe a little too easy ; )

love this guy! came to the accident scene. brought my smashed up bike home and met me at the hospital. sat and laughed and joked about all the bullshit that has happened. He called my mom to let her know what was up. and just stayed with me a for a few hours at the hospital. so awesome. like i said...BEST ROOM-MATE EVER!

i get hit by a car and the first person that comes to mind is her. laying in the hospital waiting to get stitched up...waiting for the news about my busted teeth...waiting for her. i was embarrassed and definitely not looking my best. and there she was...never felt better. Through her eyes I probably didn't show any emotion when she walked in, but it was there. i wanted to just break down and cry when i saw her. a sight she's never seen before. The mentality of "i have to be tough" kicks in. I'm freaking out inside. Completely freaking out...i still am. just the thought, it could've been a lot worse...getting hit by a car with damages to your body changes your perspective a bit.i love her and thank you for taking care of me and making me feel like everything's ok. it's gonna be ok. she makes my heart smile.

My 23rd bday...My baby throws me a surprise BDAY party. Complete SF family there. I've never been thrown a surprise birthday party or ever really celebrated my birthday at all. I was blown away and overwhelmed and completely surprised. why me? It was awesome...to be in front of my friends and JEN, banana cream pie...just feeling the love. ALL LOVE.

So we hang out at the house for a little bit. then we move on. we all cab it to RYE in the tenderloin. stay there for a bit. 3 shots and 1 drink deep in the first 30 minutes. then we walk to KOKO's. where i am definitely feeling the liquor.

The night slowly ends after this. I get to go to sleep next to my baby knowing that i have the next day completely off with her. couldn't of asked for a better birthday, but it still continues from here...
We wake up the next day bright eyed knowing we have the whole day off together and it's my actual birthday which fell on labor day. Pack up our backpacks, the lil' buddy, pick up Ali...and we are off to the russian river for the day...soakin up some sunshine and relaxation.

i love her.

Woke up early, got a massage...and then we drove. The buddy filled with a 12 pack, towels, and bathing suits..and a frisbee. Not quite sure where we were going...but we were going some where. We ate at a Puerto Rican restaurant called SOL in San Rafeal and then drove through Stinson...ended up in a small town called Bolinas. Honkiest beach town i've ever seen in my life.

So I thought I’d do a little recap on my San Francisco life, the unexpected city and lifestyle that I fell into so suddenly. Things changed for me when I moved here over a year ago, best step forward I’ve made so far. I’m learning to trust…trust the people around me, trust my instincts, trust myself. I can do without some people who were in my life before I moved here. There’s way too many people in the world to have people in your life that only bring you down, I just didn’t know any better at the time. They're going to come and go… I know this. My job is fun and I love showing up everyday. My family is solid, the friends I kept in my life and still want me in theirs is solid.I miss them the most. For the most part I’m happy with the life I lead here. I have someone who lights up my world and puts a smile on my face. I have a great apartment, an amazing roommate and quite a few amazing people that surround me. Like I said, some are going to come and go and some will stay forever. Few of them will mean something to me and make a difference in the way I see things. I’m learning to open up my heart and let people in. Nobody is perfect…I’m not trying to be. Just tryin to live my life with a smile on my face.
